Midweek Mancandy: George Clooney

Another Wednesday means it's time for a steaming plate of delicious, nutritious Mancandy! And today, we're featuring a super-sexy man who is in a film, opening Friday, that is getting some fantastic buzz.

Star of "Gravity" George Clooney!

George Clooney has long been regarded as one of the hottest actors in Hollywood, not just because of his excellent acting ability on TV ("ER," the voice of Sparky, the gay dog on an episode of "South Park") and in a wide range of movies ("Ocean's Eleven," "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" "Up in the Air," "The American," "The Descendants" and, in his best work, "Return of the Killer Tomatoes.").

He is also gorgeous, and he seems to only get better with age. Seriously, he looks better today than he did when he played Dr. Ross on "ER" almost 20 years ago. There's something distinctly distinguished about him that's tempered with a healthy dose of impish delight at his life. It's clear that he enjoys being a celebrity most of the time, and he seems like the kind of guy who could be a lot of fun.

Clooney also just looks like a movie star. He has the classic good looks and a timeless way of dressing that conjures up visions of Old Hollywood glamour. He's also an eternal bachelor, which kind of works in his favor. He famously dates lots of hot ladies, but never marries them - he recently broke up with Stacy Keibler reportedly because she wanted to settle down and have a family, and he doesn't.

Clooney is also an excellent, diverse actor, able to play a lot of different roles. He has won lots of acting awards for TV and movies, and been nominated for even more, and they have been well-deserved accolades. It sounds like he's about to rack up some more nominations, too, because he and co-star Sandra Bullock have received a lot of great buzz surrounding "Gravity."

George Clooney's career doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon, and that makes us happy. That's also what makes him a perfect choice for this week's Midweek Mancandy!
